Your First Time Visit
Staff Contact
We want it to be easy for you to come to church. We want you to experience a great
time and meet friendly people who will welcome you into the family of First Baptist
Church. We know that first-time visits to any church raise many questions and
concerns.
Here's a quick look at some frequently asked questions that will hopefully give you
a better idea of what to expect when you visit FBC. If you don't see an answer to
your question here or on any of the specific ministry pages, please contact us in the
church office by calling 402.296.9284. Our staff would love to assist you in
preparation for your visit to FBC.
Where are you located?
Our address is 16220 Hwy 75, Plattsmouth, NE 68048. We are right on Hwy 75,
which offers easy accessibility from Plattsmouth, Beaver Lake, or Bellevue. To get
directions to our church, click here.
Where do I go?
Greeters are located at each entrance to the building. We have two carports for
drop-off if the weather is ill, or you can enter through the main entrance in the front of
the building. These greeters will direct you to the "Welcome Center", where you will
be greeted by a Host or Hostess. They will help you get to the main auditorium, help
your children get to their classes and show you where your adult class is.
What should I wear?
We're more concerned with meeting your needs than focusing on what you wear. So
you can be most comfortable, you should know that many people do choose to wear
their "Sunday best". We only ask that you be modest and appropriate in what you
choose to wear to God's House.
What do I need to bring?
A Bible will help you follow along with the message and scripture reading. If you
have a Bible, bring it with you. If you don't have a Bible, we offer them to all visitors
at the Welcome Center. We also offer a wide variety of Bibles to purchase in the
bookstore.
When do I need to arrive?
Sunday morning services begin promptly at 11am. Adult Connection Groups and
Sunday School classes meet at 10:00am. Plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to
the service/class time to allow adequate time for parking and getting to the
Auditorium/Bible Study class. If you have small children this will give you enough
time to show them their classes and get them checked in properly.
Is the church handicap accessible?
Yes. There is reserved parking directly in front of the main entrance. The building is
also equipped with wheelchair accessible entrances and handicap accessible
restrooms located throughout the building. Should you need a wheelchair to use or
need assistance, please call the church office ahead of time or tell someone at the
Welcome Center, and we'll be more than happy to help you get to where you're
going.
Where do my children go?
We are equipped with clean, professional, state of the art nurseries and children's
classes. Our nursery is for babies through 4 year olds while you are in the main
auditorium. We have gone to extreme efforts to make sure your little ones are cared
for properly. You will receive a pager upon checking them in, and will be notified if
your child needs extra assistance in any way. We also offer children's churches
during the Sunday morning service. We feel it is best for children to have the Bible
taught on a level that can be understood and comprehended. We believe children
should love coming to church, and we strive to make that possible.
How are visitors recognized?
The last thing we want to do is single you out or put you on the spot. We ask visitors
to fill out a Guest Information Card at the Welcome Center. Pastor will acknowledge
and thank you for visiting with us. We'll never ask you to stand up or call you out in
any way. We want you to have a wonderful experience at First Baptist Church and we
strive to create a friendly and comfortable environment to make you feel right at
home.
