Dear Friends,
Spring is here! Seasons are God’s gift to us in the Midwest. We enjoy each stage, yet we are usually ready to move on to the next. Hearing the birds singing and seeing the green grass appear are signs that new beginnings are just around the corner. I feel that way as we look forward to our new building and the new opportunities that will come with it. Check out the updates on the web site fbcplattsmouth.org.
Our young people are winding up a great school year. We are thankful for all of the activities they could be a part of this year. We sure appreciate the leadership that made so many opportunities available for them. The alumni of the youth group often look back with thankful hearts for the Christian guidance given to them in their youth. One of the joys of being the pastor in the same place for over twenty years is to see those who grew up here who are now serving the Lord in their adult years, many with their own families.
Thank you for being faithful. The ministry goes forward here because of faithful members who serve, give, love, and desire to grow spiritually. I am blessed to be a part of such a great church.

“YOU TOOK MY PLACE”
One day, a man went to visit a church. He arrived early, parked his car, and got out. Another car pulled up near him, and the driver told him, “I always park there. You took my place!”
The visitor went inside for Sunday School, found an empty seat, and sat down. A young lady from the church approached him and stated, “That’s my seat! You took my place!” The visitor was somewhat distressed by this rude welcome, but said nothing.
After Sunday School, the visitor went into the church sanctuary and sat down. Another member walked up to him and said, “That’s where I always sit, You took my place!” The visitor was even more troubled by this treatment, but still said nothing.
Later, as the congregation was praying for Christ to dwell among them, the visitor stood, and His appearance began to change. Horrible scars became visible on His hands and on His sandaled feet. Someone from the congregation noticed Him and called out, “What happened to you?” The visitor replied, “I took your place.”
A teacher gave her class of second graders a lesson on the magnet and what it does. The next day in a written test, she included this question: “My full name has six letters. The first one is M. I pick up things. What am I?” When the test papers were turned in, the teacher was astonished to find that almost 50 percent of the students answered the question with the word Mother. – Unknown
